A Well -intentioned rant(or self reflection)
Is there something you’ve told yourself you’re going to do one day? Is there some goal you have in the back of your mind that you fail to comprehend or even mention to yourself? You don’t even want to look at it because you know it requires sacrifice and you know it’ll command from you the very thing you’re scared of: your full potential.
Your full potential is scary for a lot of reasons. Firstly, you lose the comfort that is tethered to your dull, dreary habits that perpetuate a state of idleness and indifference. Second, your world vastly opens up when reaching your full potential. All of the sudden, your good energy starts to touch the lives of others. The words you speak become important because they're spoken in front of gullible ears. You become known, you become adored, or hated. Reaching your full potential means opening your mind and your heart in a way that says to others, “it's safe for you here.”
On the other end of that coin, is the safety you feel in your home, Your Body. It may have taken you years but you’re finally feeling safe in your own skin. You finally learn that picking at it isn’t helping. You finally learn that it is okay to not finish your plate. It is okay to just be. You learn that it’s okay to just be yourself in a world full of "influencers” and social media bullies.
I’ll tell you the big secret you need to know when you’re trying to reach that full potential that you have envisioned for yourself in your mind and in your heart. The secret is in your power. When you give your power away, you’re telling the universe that you’re not serious about this. You’re not serious about seeing this through. Giving your power away can be a lot of things. Your power lies in your attention, your intention, your words and your life force.
We are tempted to give our power away all the time. Whether it be your muscle memories of opening tiktok and instagram, or a rude customer at work that you want to yell at. Everything is demanding your attention.
My question for you is, what do you intend to do with your life? I’m not asking you to be specific, I just want to know where your morals and values stand. One could say, I want to have a positive impact on the world. Others could say, I want to have a loving family life, or I want to be famous one day.
So what values and morals does a person who successfully brought your life goal to life, possess? Are they honorable? Do they sacrifice in the name of others and their own wellness? Do they understand the way the universe and energy works? Do they feel happy with themselves?
I have to say, I’m sure these people know that there is no moving forward with self hate. Self hate is something that stops you in your tracks. It freezes you in so many spots. It triggers you and hides you until you wake up and wish you didn’t.
I urge you to find out the ways in which you perpetuate your self hatred. (If you have never struggled with this, GOOD FOR YOU) What are the ways you constantly shrink yourself? What are the ways you dishonor yourself and your healing journey? Healing isn’t pretty. You have to face the things that you hide but that dance in the shadow of your subconscious and end up ruling your entire life.
For the rest of the year, I want to dedicate myself to becoming a better me. I want to pour into all aspects of my being; my physical self, my mental health, my overall wellness and my being. Radical self care is the word and it requires us to face the harsh truths, to become aware of the ways we have been a hindrance to our own selves.
Giving your power away is almost the same as being completely indifferent to your life and the way it goes. I hope that if you care, you’ll pull together the effort and energy to make life go your way, despite the obstacles you may face.
Love,
Kaylee
